LG G Watch Not Getting Android Wear 2.0 As Well
Previously, it was the hearts of Moto 360 1st generation owners that got broken. Now it's the turn of those who have the original LG G Watch to have their dreams dashed. Well, that is their dreams included an upgrade ro Android Wear 2.0. It's actually old news already since the answer was apparently given last month, but some people wisely pointed out in the light of Motorola's news the other day, that LG also confirmed that its older smartwatch will not be upgraded and us un fact already discontinued.

Just like with Motorola, the answer to the age old question "Will my be upgraded to the latest?" happened on Twitter through the LG USA Mobile account. A user asked if his LG G Watch W100 will receive the Android WEar 2.0 update. LG responded saying, it's not on their "current software update list". In fact, it has been "dicontinues".

As to why it won't be updated, there was no official reason given. But just like the 1st generation Moto 360, it's probably because the 2 year old smartwatch, which was one of the first ones to run on the Android Wear platform, will not be able to handle the demands of version 2.0. In a digital world, 2 year old gadgets are ancient, so that is understandable.

So again, if yoy are very much looking forward to Android Wear 2.0, then you migh as well upgrade a newer smartwatch. But if yoy're satisfief with the one you've got, then don't brother.
